Westerns galore!

Do you like westerns? I love them myself. Of course, that may be the reason I write them.

What do you like about the western cowboy? Do you like contemporary or historical westerns?

I've written them both, but I think I like the contemporary westerns the best. I like to be able to torture my cowboys a little before letting them have their happily ever after. There is something about the cowboy that does it for me. I'm not sure if it's the way they are with their women, how they dress or the hard working attitude. Maybe a little of everything.

No, I'm not married to a cowboy although I've brought him kicking and screaming into my world with 4 horses, 3 dogs and 2 cats. We do love our animals. I'm particularly fond of my horses. I have 2 Tennessee Walker mutts and 2 retired racehorses I got from a friend who could no longer keep them. We have our little 6 acre ranch with our old farmhouse and I'm happy as a little pig in a mud hole. So I'll keep writing my cowboys into their stories, finding them the love of their life and torturing them just a little before they get their happiness in the end.

Here is a little snippet of my upcoming release in my Cowboy Dreamin' series. This is Jeremiah and Callie's story.

Coming soon from Secret Cravings Publishing - 6/28/2014

Blurb

Jeremiah Young has been Callie Lewis’s full-on crush from the time she was a freshman in high school and he tutored her in Math, now they are both grown ups trying to find their way in the world. Can she convince herself he is her Forever Kind of Cowboy before he walks away?
Jeremiah does the finances for Thunder Ridge. He’s managed to build quite a little nest egg for himself and his family over the last few years with smart investments, but he wants to make sure he can take care of a family before he puts his feet in that pool. Callie has been a friend all these years so when did she grow up to be a gorgeous woman?

Can two stubborn, individualistic people come together to build a lifetime of love or will their pride and goals get in the way of a forever kind of love?
Come on by my facebook event on 6/28 and help me celebrate the release of Forever Kind of Cowboy. I'm giving away a $50 Amazon GC.  https://www.facebook.com/events/691075064271506/
Also, with this post I'll give everyone who comments a free copy of Make Mine a Cowboy signed ebook. Leave a comment and your email addy to win!
Love you all!
Sandy

I have always had a thing for westerns and cowboys! Watched movies and tv western shows. I love reading the stories now as an adult. There is just something about cowboys, their love of the land and their love of women! I like both contemporary and historical and mix it up. Redrabbitt@aol.com (2 b's 2 t's)

I LOVE cowboys -- contemporary and historical. Maybe because I'm a native Texan! Can't wait to read Jeremiah and Callie's story in your Cowboy Dreamin' series.

I love cowboy books which is a bit weird since I've been a vegetarian most my life and they tend to involve animals that will be eaten.

I do love cowboy books, but living in New England doesn't give me much contact with them :-(

See you at AAD :-)

I love reading westerns, they are my favorite read! I think I am more fond of the historical westerns but I really love the all. I do switch around a lot. I guess I just love cowboys. I am not around any cowboys though only in my books. Thanks for the great blog hop.
